Kelley and Charlie | Utah Wedding Photographer

I am so blessed to do what I do. Is it always easy? Not at all. I learn something new every time I have a session. Sometimes it's the angle that I use that's really working (or really not working!). Sometimes it's the way shadows and light play off of features. Sometimes it's a client that wants something that I didn't realize. Whatever the case, I learn something new. Something to help me get better and better at what I do. Sometimes it's wonderful, and sometimes my heart aches, but both ways I feel grateful to have learned something.
Beyond that, I'm blessed to do what I do because I get to see into people's lives. I get to be part of something outside of myself for a little while, and I value that beyond any words I could use to describe that. Because people teach me little lessons over and over, and I know that these are lessons I need to learn.
This was one such event! Kelley and Charlie are a beautiful couple (perhaps you remember their groomal session here), who allowed me to peek into their private lives. A life that is filled with family and friends that love them dearly. What a beautiful event they put on to celebrate their marriage. So many friends came, there was almost no room to move! It was truly spectacular. The weather was nasty, but let up for a few formal shots (and amazing skies!) before everything got under way. Kelley looked absolutely radiant, and so happy.
Thanks guys, for letting me take part in something so beautiful!

And a special thanks to kelli bramble who second shot with me, got some awesome detail shots of the event (see last set), and literally put out two fires.

Sume Family | Utah Family Photographer

Meet the Sume Family. These were the winners of my Facebook Fanpage contest from a good while back! (If you are not already a fan, become one here!)

I had so many great entries for the contest. This was one that I hand-picked the winner, so people got to tell me WHY they thought that they should win. I got some sad stories and some funny stories. Some that gave me a good chuckle ("Do NOT make me go back to insert-chain-photography-store-here again!"). But, I chose the Sume family because of reasons beyond the entry. Actually, I chose the Sume family because my feelings for this family, in particular the MOM of this family, run very, very deep.

Jerri was a leader of my youth group in church when I was a teenager. A teenager full of angst, confusion, and emotional chaos. And at a time when I thought NO ONE saw me, she did. She took time out of her life to talk with me. To listen. To ask. I remember feeling astonished that an adult would do that. That an adult would see that I was struggling and actually step up and give me a safe place to talk and get out all the junk I'd built up inside. Without passing judgment or telling me what to do. And since she was so cool then, and entered my contest now, I figured it was the least I could do to show my gratitude.

It never left me.

Just a few of my faves:

Wagner Family | Utah Family Photographer

Oh wow! I am so behind on my blogging! I have so much to share with you! I hope to get caught up soon.

Stay tuned...I'm stirring up a Black Friday sale for you!!

And without further ado, the Wagners:
The Wagners are my adorable neighbors. We share a backyard fence and I love hearing the kids out playing frequently. I live in a neighborhood where kids do that...they play outside and it's so wonderful! We are so blessed to have such great neighbors...their kids put up with my kids yelling things through the fence at them (and you know it's true Kimberly!). Better yet, they put up with me yelling at my children to stop hitting, to take turns, to clean up their toys, etc. (even more true). They are both brilliant, and their kids are too. Here were my absolute favorites from their session:

Bramble Family | Utah Family Photographer

This is my dear friend, Kelli Bramble, who also happens to be a great photographer. When she asked me to trade pictures with her this year, I jumped at the chance. Even though we'd already had our pictures taken earlier in the year, I've been bad and missed having them done for the previous two...so I figured it would be a great opportunity to make up for it, AND get even more great shots of our family.
Kelli's family is so sweet. I adore each one of her kids for different reasons and we always have a good time when we get together. Our kids are around the same age range, and it's comical watching them figure out how to play together. And Kelli is a great friend. She's like the mama bear...always taking care and being so considerate of the people she is with. She loves fiercely. She works fiercely. She amazes me.

Sweet Pea | Utah Newborn Photographer

It's a miracle: life.

You remember my sweet little sister, right?

She had the perfect little outcome. We had a very limited amount of time to take newborn photos of her sweet little baby, but I'm so happy with what I was able to capture. As I've said before, I love photographing newborns.

If you are expecting and are interested in doing newborn photos, please contact me as soon as possible to set a tentative date. Newborns are best photographed in the first ten days of life!

Welcome to the world Corinne!
