Heather and Brad | Utah Wedding Photographer

Remember Heather and Brad? Yeah, them. The awesome couple that let me do a Beloved session (and totally went with it) for their engagments. Well, Heather didn't want just anywhere for their groomal session. She wanted it to match the overall feel of her wedding, which was a bit vintage with great details and, well, just pretty. She knew exactly where she wanted to go from a previous bridal session I'd featured on my blog. But, when we got to the Mental Hospital to do their groomal session (after nearly two hours in traffic!) we found out that we got there just a little too late, and that we wouldn't get to access the castle or the pond because of a play that was going on later that evening. What we were left with were the orchards. Luckily they were gorgeous and Heather was so excited about them. I think Heather and Brad would make anywhere especially beautiful with the love that they share. Seriously...but, I can't deny how beautiful an orchard of trees is. It was an overcast evening and we worked a little magic.
Heather is an interior designer and the details on her dress and her shoes were amazing (wait til you see the wedding, oh boy!). If you want her number, let me know. She's incredible (really, I've hired her to take all the BROWN out of my house...it's taking over)!

On the 5th Day of Christmas (in July)...

Today's giveaway is a fun treat! With some of my higher end weddings I offer my clients these gorgeous CD covers so that instead of throwing the CD in the drawer, they have a beautiful way to display them and a sweet reminder of their day. They are thick and have a magnetic closure and feel just like a nice heavy book. For today's giveaway, you will be getting one!

Dates are going. For those that are interested, the leaves generally begin turning the beginning of October, so if you are wanting a session with fall leaves, let me know. Two of my October dates are already taken, so get in quick!

Rhonda and Milan Wedding | Utah Wedding Photographer

You know, when you make a connection with someone, being part of something special in their lives effects you that much more. Remember Rhonda and Milan? Remember how lucky I was to take part in his surprise proposal? They got married recently, and I was honored to get to take part in a small part of their day. I was driving to the Logan Temple and the skies were amazing. A storm was threatening, but hadn't yet broken, and the clouds were brushed across the sky so incredibly, that I couldn't help reflecting on life, and love, and how we ALL have a story. Plus, I was so excited to photograph this incredible sky for Rhonda and Milan. But wouldn't you know that as soon as I took the Logan exit, the clouds released their fury and we wound up having rain (good luck, I hear) for their grand exit from the Temple. And although our Temple time was fast and furious (and soaking!), I still think we were able to capture some wonderful memories for this strong, beautiful couple.

Amber and Jim| Utah Wedding Photographer

Everyone has a story. Each one of us. And Amber and Jim have a beautiful, personal story that brought tears to my eyes when she told it to me. All I can say is that sometimes it takes a long time for us to find our soul mates. The one person that can make us better people. The person that can love us in healthy ways; give us hope and butterflies and help us define all the good parts of who we are. That long time doesn't have to be in years; it can be in life experiences. A lot of good and bad ones that make us SEE, truly see, when we finally meet him/her. We know. And it's up to us to grab that goodness, in spite of fear, and make the most of our lives. And that's exactly what Amber and Jim decided to do when they got married.

It was a gorgeous fall day. Amber looked amazing (no surprise, did you see her bridals?)

She was adorably excited to sneak a peek at her man as he arrived.

And the guests were seated and it was time to change their lives.

And then he saw her, and he turned his head back and whispered, "Wow..." to himself.

And something a little vintage-y from me:
