Dream | Utah Family Photographer

I love when things seem to come together in ways that seem to be beyond coincidence. There have been so many experiences in my own life that just leave me feeling loved and fulfilled; that make me feel a higher power in my life. Sometimes circumstances just naturally fall together, and it's those times I treasure.

This session was one of those times.

I ran into Heather's mom just over a year ago and she told me about the heartaches Heather was suffering, and the strength she was finding to overcome them. I remember how distinctly her story weighed on my heart, and was amazed at how often the thoughts came back to me. Over and over I heard similar stories from friends and was reminded of Heather. When I found her on Facebook I was ecstatic. I got to catch up on all she'd been doing over the last year to continue to build a strong foundation for herself and for her girls and was continually impressed with her ability to overcome.

I wanted to give Heather an incredible session that showed her strength and her love. This location is peaceful and powerful and I felt it perfectly described what she's gone through: the climb up the hill of life, the triumph she is finding at the top of her mountain, the peace and beauty she is discovering in herself and in life.

Why do I have such a hard time narrowing down my favorites? Be sure to watch her slide show at the end.

Heather and girls part II

I'm trying out a new slideshow program, and I thought Heather's shoot would be a fun one to play around with. So here are some of the photos taken at their session. I'll share some of my favorite stills soon.

And of course as I was listening to the music below I loved how it went with the photos, so the music is provided courtesy Youtube.

Almost Ready

The water balloon pics are nearly ready, but to keep you groovin' in the meantime, here's a fun little ditty.

Mom and girls | Utah Family Photographer

I love what I do. I had the great opportunity this week to meet up with Heather and her three amazing, beautiful daughters. I've known Heather for, well, almost as far back as I can remember. She was one of my older sister's best friends in high school. One of the things I always remembered about Heather was her gorgeous eyes, and her sweeter than sugar giggle. It's been fun catching up from time to time as adults after children and life happens and I'm consistently amazed with her strength and her beauty. It's such a great blessing to be able to photograph such sweet, fun relationships like the one these girls have with their mother.

We started our session with some mother/daughter shots, got a few of the girls and some of Heather (I told her to be sexy for her boyfriend, but she just giggled and covered her mouth...the Heather I know and love!), and ended the session with a water balloon fight. I'm breaking this up into two posts because, well, I couldn't narrow down what to show you, and I didn't want to overwhelm! So, the water balloon fight will come in the next couple of days. It was SO fun, so make sure to come back.

And to follow me on Facebook, click here and become a fan. I'm going to run a fun contest soon! But you won't get in on it, unless you are a Facebook fan!

Adoption | Utah Family Photographer

It was time for family pictures again, and what a perfect time. Anthony and Candice and family just finalized their adoption of little Miss M. She is theirs and they are THRILLED! The boys are so in love with their little sister, and I cannot blame them, she is adorable. She makes their family whole.

Cinderella | Utah Child Photographer

I've said it time and time again, but I really do have the most amazing clients. I've been so privileged to get to know so many different people and feel blessed that some have become my friends. I treasure getting to peek into their lives so that I can capture who they are and what they love.

When I first photographed this client a couple of years ago, I was so surprised to learn that she has her own business doing princess parties! Are you kidding me? Is that not the coolest thing? Ever? I was so sad that my little girl was only a baby then! But we've stayed in touch and I had the opportunity to do some head shots for her as Snow White. Since then she added Cinderella to her resume, and I just knew this was the perfect year to have her do my daughter's birthday party. Cinderella was so fabulous. She ran the entire event, from sending out invitations, to bringing the cake and lunch! She sang songs, read stories, gave manners lessons and even did a craft and balloon tying with the girls. She was the *perfect* princess the entire time, and I think that the parents enjoyed the party as much as the girls did!

Make sure to check out her website here! Tell her I sent you! And if any of you order the horse and carriage, invite me to the party too. Pretty please!?!
