Oh baby!

We had originally planned to have our little one in a couple of weeks, but because of certain circumstances we have been scheduled for tomorrow! That means that I'm taking off a week early. There are a few loose ends I need to work on getting tied up today with some of my clients, and I am working on them! If you are a client waiting to hear from me, I will be in touch as soon as possible!

For anyone else, if you send me an email or leave me a message, please be patient! I will return your calls and emails as soon as I can!

Don't forget that I'm booking in August! Fall fills up quickly, so if you are interested in family photos for holiday cards, send your requests now! You can email me through my website's contact page!

Have a fun summer vacation!

Sweet | Utah newborn photographer

I love photographing babies. They are such innocent little miracles and you just feel closer to heaven when you are with them. This little sweetheart was no exception. This newborn was a referral from one of my best clients, and she always sends the sweetest people my way. I had a great time getting to cuddle up with S, and was so happy that when she finally decided she needed her nap that she was so curly! Here are a few of my favorites.

And if you are expecting, make sure to schedule your newborn session in advance! Newborns are best photographed in the first two weeks of life!

Sneak Peek | Utah Maternity photographer

Just one quick sneak peek...

Good gracious I love this belly! My dear friend is having her sixth baby and asked me if I'd do a few belly shots. Of course I jumped all over that! I was so glad she wanted to capture this :) Even though she's been through this a few times before, it's still such a miracle and really takes up so little time of your life. What an incredible way to remember something so beautiful! And, her belly is one of the most amazing pregnant bellies, just look for yourself!

Family | Utah Family Photographer

I had a lot of fun with this family, and so many more I wanted to show here. Windy is one of my oldest friends. It's been so fun reconnecting and seeing each other's family grow. We started our photo session at the Salt Lake City library, which was so fitting because Windy is an aspiring author and has been writing as far back as I can remember. I've been lucky enough to read some of her more recent work and I'm so impressed. She has grown tremendously and I just know she is going to be successful with her book(s) that she is working on. She has such an amazing voice and style in her writing and it just draws you in. After we spent some time at the library we finished up at the Peace Gardens. Her family is just gorgeous and her girls were so adorable to capture together. And I can't forget Scott, her amazing husband, who has such a great sense of humor and was so good to let me do whatever I wanted for pics. He loves photography too, and I'm guessing we'll be seeing some of his work popping up very soon!

Mother

When I became a mother I didn't realize I'd end up feeling the way my own mom seemed to feel. She probably didn't realize she wore her heart on her sleeve (or maybe she did), but when I observed her I could tell how she was feeling, even if I didn't understand the depth or complexity of her emotions. When we are young it is easy to assume that we'll be different (and somehow in our naive minds: better) than our parents. And of course we do end up different, because this is the nature of life, isn't it? But I guess what has baffled me most is how similar I've found myself to be. I think part of it is that I can now empathize, in some small way, with the love of a parent.

As I've grown and had children of my own I see first-hand how deep the love of a mother is. And not just because I have my own children, but because I see what my mom still does for all of her own, even though they are grown. I've always thought of my mom as having a simple, beautiful, and fragile soul. And I've loved that about her. But as I see her now she is one of the strongest women I've ever met and I respect her for fiercely loving her children. She shows this daily by taking care of them in ways I don't know if I could handle. She takes care of my dad who is sick a lot of the time. She takes care of her parents, running their errands, taking them to doctor's appointments, etc. She faithfully serves in church and is a good neighbor. And she doesn't complain aloud. I'm certain she feels very overwhelmed at times. I'm certain she wonders how long she can keep up. And I'm certain she'll do it as long as she needs to, because she has a mother's love.

The other day was her birthday, so I took the kids out to visit for a little bit. She asked me if I'd be willing to take a picture of her for my dad to put on his desk at work. I had my camera with me, and we were rushing to get into the car to get home in time for my oldest to get back from school, so we didn't have time to do anything great, but I still love this picture of my mom. I can see so much when I look at her. I am so blessed to have her in my life. She is always willing to listen and love me.

Utah Maternity Photographer

What a fabulous time I had photographing N last week. She was simply glowing and it came through in her pictures. I was so glad to have a maternity session where she wanted to be wrapped. We are both due close to the same time and we joked about how nice it would be if we could just walk around in the wraps during the summer pregnancy months...luckily we'll both be delivering before those HOT months get here :) But look at her! Stunning, isn't she?

Twins | Utah Child Photographer

I had so much fun photographing these two! So much personality and so much love. I am always in awe of the secret world that twins share and I really loved getting to capture some of that. We brought little sister in for the last picture in their Easter dresses. Aren't these girls just gorgeous?
