I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Provo a few weeks ago to capture baby M before he left on a summer adventure with his parents. I'm thinking that all the grandparents and aunts and uncles will be especially happy for that, because a few of them were there doting on him during our session, and by the time M gets home, he will have changed so much!

It was easy to see why they were so in love. This little guy was amazing. His spirit so strong. And he might have possibly been the best little sleeping baby I have ever had the pleasure of photographing.

Photographing a newborn is one of those things where you'll look back and be amazed. Amazed at how they've changed, how they've grown, how much you didn't see when you were holding them in your arms. Newborn photos are best made in the first 10 days of life. If you are interested in setting up a session, do so while you are still pregnant, and we'll accommodate our schedule!

Remember this beautiful maternity session? Well, I was so excited to photograph their sweet baby, T. He was such an adorable little guy, and it came so timely when earlier that week I was having mini breakdowns over being done having more kids. And baby T was such a hoot...he loved being held, but not so much being placed in anything...so I got to cuddle a little longer, which was so nice. And mom and dad were just so great and go-with-the-flow kind of people that we just got to do hang out...but we were sure to get some of the shots she wanted...like some of dad and T, because "he is so cute with him."









And I love when my clients see something I've done and want to do it for their own session. When T had had ENOUGH...mom told me that the only thing she wanted to make sure we tried for was my chair shot and luckily we got it!
Thanks you guys...hope you are enjoying that sweet little babe, and I can't wait to see him again soon...I'm guessing he's grown and changed ton already!

This morning my always curious five year old asked me, "Mom, why is Pluto no longer a planet?" Yes, these are the kinds of things that he thinks about. His ceiling is covered in spray-painted Styrofoam balls (barely) resembling planets and stars. He's already declared that when he grows up he's going to be a "doctor astronaut" and I believe he could be if he wanted to be.

As parents we all have hopes and dreams for our children. We can't help it. We hope to positively influence their precious lives in ways that will help them to grow into someone unique, confident, and wonderful. But when each new life graces ours, little do we realize the life we hold in our hands will change our own so dramatically.

Maybe that's why I love photographing newborns so much. I hold in my own hands, if only for a few hours, the potential of a life that could change the world. And this sweet little guy was no different. I loved getting to spend time with not only him, but both his parents, an aunt, and his grandma! It was easy to see how loved he was and how he will be so goodly influenced by his family.

Remember this adorable family? Well, they had their sweet little babe and I was lucky to photograph her in the new studio. She was a perfect angel for me, and newborns are one of my all-time favorite subjects to photograph.

My Baby!!

Our sweet little Geoffrey was born May 29 via c-section, and we are so in love with him! I haven't been able to get many pics of him because I've been healing up, but I attempted a few yesterday. Thanks to all of you for your well wishes!!

I love photographing babies. They are such innocent little miracles and you just feel closer to heaven when you are with them. This little sweetheart was no exception. This newborn was a referral from one of my best clients, and she always sends the sweetest people my way. I had a great time getting to cuddle up with S, and was so happy that when she finally decided she needed her nap that she was so curly! Here are a few of my favorites.

And if you are expecting, make sure to schedule your newborn session in advance! Newborns are best photographed in the first two weeks of life!

2 Days New

Meet sweet little Maggie, just two days old! My brother and sister in law have been waiting for her for so long and finally (FINALLY!!!) they got their little girl. We are all so happy for you both, and Candice, there is not a mommy more deserving than you!
