We are in Recovery!

I just wanted to get on and give you all a quick update on the surgery. Everything went really well. The staff at PCMC was wonderful and helpful and really kept everything rolling. We expected to sit around for long periods of time in between everything, but it wasn't that way at all. We were very appreciative (and it helped calm our nerves too).

The surgery went as well as we could have hoped. The cyst was quite a bit deeper than what the doctor anticipated, so the doctor had to dig into the tissue further than expected; but the good news was that it came out as cleanly as he'd hoped and it wasn't attached to anything else. She tolerated the surgery and anesthesia well. It was so interesting watching her come out of anesthesia. Initially she was very sweet, and then got very angry, but mostly because she did not like the IV in her ankle. Once they removed that she calmed down pretty quickly, but continued to be a bit volatile for the next few hours. She also struggled maintaining her balance for a good while.

Her recovery so far is going well. She complains that it hurts from time to time, but she's generally returned to her normal disposition and we're happy that she's doing so well.

I want to extend a BIG thank you to all of you for your sweet comments, emails and phone calls. Your prayers, thoughts, and words of support have been felt and touched my heart! Thank you so much!

And here are just a couple more pictures of my little princess.

I'm glad she's doing so well in recovery. Give her a big hug for us (even though she has no clue who we are)! We've been thinking lots about her the last few days!

I'm so glad to hear that she is doing well and so are you! Primary Childrens is such an amazing place. Are they going to do a biopsy on the cyst?

Thanks Alexa and Hillary! Yes, they are doing a biopsy, so we should get the results in a week or so.
