Family

There is nothing in this world more constant than the evolution of humanity; through generations we find our history and our future. What a beautiful thing we have in family that we can look both backward and forward and discover who we are. I had the awesome opportunity to photograph Kelli and her daughter, when they came into town, along with her mother and grandmother for a four generation photo shoot. Kelli wanted to do these photos at her grandma's home to capture everything she cherished about growing up-the traditions passed down in this family. Her grandma does beautiful crochet work, so we made sure to get the generation of hands on top of one of her beautiful pieces. Her grandfather has been a gardner for so long, and they have this amazing garden on the side of their home (literally, they bought the lot to build their dream home, but after building two other houses next to it, decided to settle and build a beautiful garden instead!). Kelli fondly remembers sitting on her grandparent's front porch just talking and being together. What an incredible experience to celebrate life with this family. And if that wasn't enough, her grandma sent home dish towels and a dish rag that she crocheted...almost too pretty to use! It touched my heart. A special thanks to Darla for assisting me!

breathtakingly precious! I loved these! That first one is just beautiful..well, they all are. We did 5 generation pictures with my mom's Grandma when Linds was about 2, and she (Linds' great, great, Grandma) died just a couple weeks later. I'm so thankful we have them! I loved your opening in this post re. humanity & family. These are gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing the beauty.
