It's Here! It's Here!

I am now the proud owner of a brand-spanking new Canon 5D. Woot!!! This is huge for me...I hummed and hawed for half a year about what to get...talking myself up to one thing and then down, then up to something else. I thought about it for so long and after I asked myself what direction I wanted to take things, the answer was very clear to me. And I am so excited about my new camera!

What does this mean for clients? It means you get even better quality images, not to mention that you can print HUGE...yes, I've had a few clients that have wanted bigger prints than I've been able to offer in the past and I'm excited that now the size of prints I can offer will be even better.
And here are a few first test shots...I look forward to getting used to my new camera!

Awesome! That is the camera I was looking at but i'm still debating between that and the 40d. Can I be nosy and ask what lenses you have? I can't decide on those either! :)

Thanks girls!

Lyndee-I got the 50mm 1.4 (a fabulous lens to have for portraits...you can't go wrong with it) and I also got the 28-105mm 4 L series. I picked up a flash too (580ex ii), since I'm going to be more learning about lighting and some weddings in the future.

Hi, Joanna! I'm a friend of Holly Woolley's and she directed me to your blog to check out your amazing pictures. You have done a great job shooting her family! I am dabbling in photography myself so I love to check out the eye candy here. :) Congrats on your new camera! That is so exciting. If you don't mind sharing, what kind of camera were you shooting with before? Thanks for the inspiration here!

I was shooting with a Pentax K100D, primarily with a 50mm 1.4 . It's a great camera with great results, and I'd recommend it without hesitation for anyone starting out. I'll still use it.

Hey Joanna,

Thanks for the comments about my work. I have been checking out your stuff weekly for a while now. You have such a fun fresh style and I am jealous of your new camera (good for you!). We should talk photography sometime (natural light, flash, reflectors, etc.) I hope you guys are doing well. Happy Holidays!
